Peer Review Process

Advances in Health and Exercise operates a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. All submissions are initially assessed by the editorial office to ensure that the manuscript fits the aims and scope of the journal and meets basic methodological and ethical standards.

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are assigned to an editor and sent to at least two independent expert reviewers. The identities of authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process to ensure objectivity and impartiality.

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor makes one of the following decisions: acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. Authors are required to address reviewers’ comments carefully and submit a revised manuscript within the specified timeframe. Revised submissions may be subject to further review.

Authors are expected to cooperate fully during the peer-review process and to provide additional information, raw data, or documentation related to ethical approval when requested.

The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of a manuscript rests with the editorial board, which is responsible for maintaining the scientific quality and ethical standards of the journal.
